We have lovely guest comments going back over 18 years - here are a selection of recent ones:

Clematis Cottage:

We had a wonderful time in Dorset and really loved Clematis Cottage – Chris says you should rename it cosy cottage! After Wednesday the weather was glorious for February with sunshine, blue skies and even blue sea, so we were able to visit lots of different places and even sit on the beach. Frosty nights meant we really enjoyed the wood burner (we have of course replaced the logs we used) and it was good to have everything we could possibly need in the cottage. It was very kind of you to have left us some welcome goodies – most unexpected but much appreciated. So thank you for such a wonderful prize. We loved it and were reluctant to leave. We would also like to say that we think it’s fantastic that you give so much support to Many Tears.....Gill and Chris

Just returned from another wonderful week at Clematis Cottage with our 6 Many Tears cavaliers. The dogs so love Dorset and we enjoyed our old favourites Charmouth, Lyme East Beach, Cogden and West Bay beaches which are all dog friendly. We also spent the day in Abbotsbury this time for a change and found it to be a great day out. There's the Swannery, Sub Tropical Gardens (dogs allowed on leads here) and the lovely village and beach. All tired and happy after a fab holiday, thanks Pat and Richard xx................ The Turner Team

We had a fantastic week in your cottage , I am so pleased we booked the week as we may have never discovered Dorset otherwise . Dorset is truly beautiful and from someone who has seen most of the world that is not a statement to be taken lightly! We were blessed with the weather and your cottage is perfect...................Sasha Crace and family

With many apologies for the lateness we wanted to say a big “thank you” from all of us for a fabulous stay at Clematis Cottage. Living in Orpington it is too easy to get used to constant noise from the traffic and people.  When we first arrived at the cottage we realised that we were all whispering, it was so quiet! Our two dogs, Ozzie and Diamond, have never been on holiday with us before – in fact because we didn’t want to leave them in kennels we have not been on holiday together for the 3 years we have had them. Diamond was already 9 when we adopted her although Ozzie was about 5-6 months. The cottage was superb and they settled very quickly into their new surroundings enjoying the daily walks in the locality! We never quite managed to persuade Diamond the Husky into the sea but Ozzie made a brave attempt at it. As you can see they both enjoyed their sunbathing and we certainly had a good week for the weather.............The Roffey family

Grace Cottage:

We had a wonderful week at Grace Cottage - it is a truly beautiful place. Many thanks for enabling us and all the dogs to go to your lovely cottage - it really does make such a difference to us multiple dog owners to know that we can have fantastic holidays along with our woofers without having to beg favours of the owners or pay massive surcharges - it's great to feel positively welcomed and to help MT at the same time..................The Tod pack

Many, many, many thanks for your generous lend of Grace Cottage, a pleasure to pay for!!! We go home refreshed, relaxed with 2 very happy dogs, Flo has gained even more confidence: a real plus for a MT woof. See you again soon Grace Cottage............  Gina, Charlie, Floyd and Flo the dogs

Thank you for the stay at Grace Cottage. We really enjoyed the stay on the other side of Loch Torridon, the cottage is in such a wonderful position- the views from the bench in the evening after a long walk will stay with me now I'm back in Nottingham and feeling much less fortunate! I hope we looked after the cottage well and left a minimal amount for your caretaker to get ready for the next guests. My son loved the Disney channels on Sky, but luckily we had such good weather he didn't watch too much! I hope we have the opportunity to stay there again soon. Thank you very much, and for the donation to the Many Tears Animal rescue............. Martin, Tessa and Darwin

We have had the most wonderful week! We have walked our socks off in the most glorious weather and enjoyed the most spectacular scenery – clear blue lochs and dramatic mountains. The cottage has been a welcome haven at the end of long days out. You have thought of everything to make it into a home from home – Thank you!............Chris and Liz

Lovely relaxing week in a beautifully located and equipped cottage. Weather pretty kind, especially our last day. Gorgeous walks, although limited by our very tired 4 months old GSD Freya. Excellent treat at The Torridon Hotel for my birthday meal. Superb food and service. Need to return some time to climb the wonderful mountains and do the long coastal circuit. Thank you!...Jackie and Barry and Freya (GSD pup)

Wonderful week in this jaw – dropping scenery. Very varying weather, a gale on Sunday besides occasional sunny spells, misty mountains. The colours and shades of light are amazing. We have done lots of walks in nearby area. Visited Torridon Community Centre for great arts and craft market on Friday. Heading for the Applecross Highland games. The cottage is really lovely, no problems beside that the garbage bin wasn’t collected even though we placed it by the road *(Recycling week I think – Pat) Thank you for this wonderful opportunity, looking forward to returning some day...............Paivi, Timo, Suor, Venla Vendalin.

.We peeped into the cottage and saw the fairy lights and knew that Pat and Richard had made magic in another cottage. We’ve had a wonderful week – the silence is deafening; the stillness and the scenery amazing. The sun has shone- it seems like all week but we came from mid Wales where it has rained relentlessly since May!! Mostyn sat by the bench and gazed wistfully at Raasay – he spent a holiday there in his youth – the island is awash with black rabbits – he was given permission to exterminate!!!! Mrs. Pugsley loved the beach and ran and ran because she can! We liked the Torridon Inn, their seafood platter with hot langoustines, pickled mussels, etc.etc. tremendous. Many many thanks..............Hilary and Lawrance, Mostyn and Mrs Pugsley

Milestone Barn:

FAB-U-LOUS as they say on strictly....Milestone Barn is by far the best 'dog friendly' barn we have stayed in. The first half hour upon arrival our mouths were open going 'wow look at this log burner, cooker, bathroom etc'. You have done a wonderful job in converting the barn and we will be back, but it is getting booked fast. Your caretaker deserves a medal and the barn was immaculate. Winnie and Murphy relaxed as soon as we arrived, which is unusual. Winnie has epilepsy and therefore stress can induce an episode however (as you can see from the pictures attached) it felt like home to her. Murphy had a calming influence on her and was very reluctant to move from the comfortable sofa's you provided. Where did you get them from? they are just what I am looking for. Thank you for creating a slice of heaven and somewhere for us to escape....................Barb and Craig, Winnie and Murphy

We have just returned home after a wonderful week. We loved the barn, it was so comfy, and a lovely place to come back to after a day out and about. Norfolk is wonderful, we were lucky enough to see the seals on Horsey Beach, with some pups as well. We also saw deer, and some small lizards outside the barn. Everyone we met was so friendly, and it was nice being able to take the dogs in to the pubs when we went for a bite to eat. We will certainly be re-booking, I know you are fully booked for next year, so will see you availability for 2014.Thank you for a wonderful stay, and also for the goodies on our arrival. Jill, Trev, Finley, Oscar and Tyler xxxxx

We have had a wonderful week at Milestone barn. The barn is so lovely and has everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage. Our dogs loved the garden and beaches near by. Archie loved his walks in the morning with his Dad, while Katy and Hamish loved their ‘chill out’ time with Mum. Hope to stay at the barn next year if it’s not all booked up!! FAB PLACE – Thank you Pat, Richard, Rosie, Nellie and Lottie............ Jim, Vanessa and Katy, Hamish and Archie Westie Gang xx August 2012

We definitely feel well rested after having a wonderful holiday in North Norfolk. Your converted barn is definitely the best place we have stayed in and any future holiday cottages will have to go a long way to beat it. The location was great because it was so easy to get to so many places. I think the dogs did begin to suffer a bit though as they are both getting on a bit so it was great having the garden to sit out in and rest up (ready for the next walk!!! We could not fault the weather either (not too hot or too cold with plenty of sunshine). Thank you once again. We will definitely  be back in the future the barn is gorgeous and there as still so many more places to visit and walk..................... Jeanette and Matthew (with Skye and Tyke)

A Fabulous week at Milestone Barn, enjoyed by three generations and three dogs. Excellent summer weather throughout, swimming in the sea every day. We particularly enjoyed Felbrigg House and Blickling Hall, a meal in the garden of the Ship Inn, fantastic service at the Vernon Arms, a drive down to the lovely sandy beach at Sea Palling and a self drive boat on the Broads from Hoveton. The barn was great to return to, you have thought of everything! A pied Wagtail joined us every morning on the lawn and on the old barn next door. The final treat was seeing a sand lizard on the beach. We’ll definitely be back.... Joanne, Doreen, Mollie, John and Paddy, Pickle and Ted xxx

Thank you for the email & keeping us up to date with all your news. We had such a wonderful week back in June at Milestone Barn, so much so, we booked for next Sept as you know. What a fabulous, restful week we had in your lovely barn conversion with all we could want for a truly dog friendly holiday! So lovely to find somewhere of a high standard...proving those like us with lots of hairy hounds deserve a fab property to stay in too!!! The Misfits dog treats went down so well...when I saw them in the welcome basket, I knew the dogs were as welcome as us! Of course, all the other goodies were lovely too...thank you! We loved visiting the beaches & Bacton Woods to name just some of our adventures. thanks again, we look forward to returning next Sept. Claire and Jay, Sweep, Stanley, Arthur and Badger

Glyn's View Cottage:

We thought Cwm Penmachno and the surrounds were beautiful and so much history and it was quite haunting at times to walk around and ponder the days gone by and how tough it must have been back then.  And today for different reasons! We had such a lovely time and were so sad to leave yesterday.  In a heat wave but probably good timing as it might have been a bit too hot for the dogs out and about! Thank you again from us all! .......Paul, Sally, Bert and Biddy dawgs.

Thanks so much for letting us have the cottage, it is so hard with all our dogs to find somewhere to go. we hope we left it how we found it. we met your care takers when we got there and they were lovely and very helpful. thanks very much the dogs so enjoyed it...... Don Curtis and Yvette

You really have found a special spot - Beautiful when the sun is shining and so cosy when the wind and rain are battering down the valley - certainly made all the waterfalls look very impressive! The dogs had a fabulous week. Sarah was in charge of helpful comments in the books. You have done a lovely job with the cottage and made it a home from home for 2 legs and 4.Thank you again for a lovely week......... The Manson Family with Sam and Toby

A fantastic cottage in an absolutely beautiful location – so cosy, even when the weather is at its worst. So many great places to vist and not enough time to fit everything in! Highlights included dog walks on Black Rock sands, reaching the summit of Snowdon and numerous quarry walks. Thank you……Sue, Sarah, Bix and Sam and Toby

Beautiful cottage. Like home from home. Loved every minute – brilliant holiday …… Chris, Azelle, Jane, Jamie and Highway and Scout

What an absolutely perfect place to spend a week relaxing and taking stock – so peaceful and quiet at night. Lots of lovely walks straight from the door. We had a fabulous meal at the Ty Gwyn hotel. Black Rock sands are great to let the hounds really stretch their legs chasing the sea birds. We will be back next year – hopefully for a fortnight. So glad we found your lovely home from home, a little gem in the dark hills…....Nic, Gary, Dogo and Remus

Stables Cottage:

Another absolutely beautiful cottage! We have had a brilliant relaxing week, morning spent in Bakewell, Matlock, Matlock Bath, afternoons were spent chilling (Liz) exploring (Darren and Horby). The birds were gorgeous and to be in such close proximity to various tits, robins, nuthatches, spotted woodpeckers, jays and dunnocks was a real treat (oh and the squirrel). The cottage is decorated tastefully and the welcome bottle of Prosecco, doggy treats and mince pies were very thoughtful (and welcome). THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH ……Liz, Darren and Horbury

What a wonderful place this is, not even Hurricaine Gonzalo could stop us enjoying our short stay. A must is Caudwell’s Mill and to have some of their homity pie. The girls have had some wonderful walks and got to meet Rosie and Lottie……..Love and Licks Christina, Barry, Bronagh, Ruby, Phoebe, Gracie and George Purton

Wine and cakes – a lovely welcome and thank you so much. We have had a fantastic relaxing break in a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. There is so much to see and do around here. Froggatt Edge, Chatsworth, various RSPB reserves, good walking from the cottage and further afield. Everywhere we went Amber was made very welcome as well. Looking forward to another break soon, either here or at one of your other cottages. Thank you…… Jackie, Trevor and Amber

On my first morning – on the bird feeders – blue tits, coal tits, great tits, marsh tits, nuthatches, bullfinches, chaffinches, siskins, greenfinches, robins, yellowhammers, woodpeckers, jays, crows, pheasants, - to name but a few! A cuckoo calling this morning and last night- a pair of tawny owls. At least two species of bat at dusk, plus woodmice under the feeders, baby rabbits by the kitchen window and pheasants on the lawn. So many lovely places to visit. Dogs loved Froggat Edge. Pat and Richard are amazing hosts…….. Naomi and the labs Wispa, Emma, Max and Sam

What a lovely place! We have had a peaceful and relaxing time in a lovely cottage. Pat and Richard are wondeeful hosts and lovely people. It is fantastic to be able to bring our doggy family too. The garden is secure, safe and great to watch the wildlife – so much of it – like one has opened the pages of a wildlife book and let the pictures free!!! We will absolutely return. Thank you…..Sue, George, Louis and May.
